Margaret Murray McLeod has many years experience of teaching piano at all ages and at all levels. As Senior Lecturer for Performance Studies at Edinburgh Napier University she prepared students for diplomas and degrees, and for more than ten years directed Napier’s Summer School for Piano Teachers. Her work with younger pupils includes several years of teaching at the Kent Junior Music School, the Junior School of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly RSAMD), and as a peripatetic teacher at a number of schools in Edinburgh. From 2006 she has been a frequent member of the Faculty of Chetham’s International Summer School and Festival for Pianists.
As a senior examiner of ABRSM’s Grade exams and Diplomas, Margaret is able to provide expert tuition for those aiming for specific goals, be they for the earliest stages of learning or for the aspiring professional. Since 2005 she has been a regular contributor to the ABRSM’s publication, Teaching Notes, a book designed to help teachers with the piano examination pieces.
